About this tool

This tool joins two or more PDF files into one. You choose the files, put them in the order you want, and download a single PDF that contains all their pages, one file after the other.

The work happens in your browser. Your files are read on your own device and are never sent to a server. Pages are copied from the originals into the new file, not redrawn, so text and images are not re-compressed.

How to use it

  1. Choose your PDFs or drop them onto the box. You can add up to 30 files.
  2. Check the page count shown for each file. Remove any file you do not need.
  3. Use the up and down arrows (or drag a row) to set the order. The first file in the list comes first in the result.
  4. Type a name for the merged file if you want something other than "merged".
  5. Press Merge PDFs. The download starts when it is ready, and you can use Download again to save it a second time.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDFs are processed by your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, so you can use it for private documents. If you close the page, the files are gone from the tool.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
No. Encrypted or password-protected PDFs are not supported. The tool shows which file is protected so you can remove it, or save an unprotected copy from the program that created it, and add it again.
Does merging reduce the quality?
No quality is lost by the merge itself. Pages are copied into the new file as they are, not rendered again, so text stays selectable and images are not recompressed. The result is usually close to the combined size of the originals.
Are bookmarks, form fields and links kept?
Not reliably. The pages and their visible content are kept, but bookmarks (outlines), some form fields, document-level settings and metadata from the original files may be lost or changed. Check the result if you depend on those.
What are the size limits?
Up to 30 files, 100 MB per file and 300 MB in total. Merging happens in your device's memory, so very large files can be slow on phones or older computers.
A file is listed as unreadable. What can I do?
The file may be damaged or may not be a real PDF even though its name ends in .pdf. Try opening it in a PDF viewer. If it opens there, printing it to a new PDF often produces a clean copy that you can add instead.
