About this tool
Percent-encoding makes text safe to use in a URL. Use component encoding for a single query value and full URL encoding to keep the URL structure intact. The tool also parses a URL into editable parts and builds query strings.
How to use it
- Paste your text or URL.
- Choose component, full-URL or form encoding, or decode; batch mode handles many lines.
- Use the parser to edit the host, path and query parameters and see the rebuilt URL.
- Copy the result.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between component and full URL encoding?
- Component encoding also escapes characters such as / ? & = :, which is right for a single value. Full URL encoding leaves those characters so the URL still works.
